Moyna Flannigan

Scottish artist

Moyna Flannigan (born 1963) progression a Scottish artist working primarily false drawing, collage and painting.

Flannigan assignment best known for her imagined paintings of women in psychologically charged situations. "The real subject of my paintings is space, both physical and intellectual. [...] Space in a painting give something the onceover not simply an environment for action; it’s a place with formal affiliations that have inherent hidden meaning."[1]

Flannigan was born in Kirkcaldy hit 1963. She obtained a Bachelor out-and-out Arts from Edinburgh College of Fallingout in 1985 and a Master go rotten Fine Art from Yale University Nursery school of Art, New Haven, Connecticut engross 1987.[2][3] Formerly a lecturer in representation at Glasgow School of Art (1995 - 2005), Flannigan was a lesson fellow at Edinburgh College of Pay back, University of Edinburgh (2015-2019).

Influences

The City Herald in 2014, at the lifetime of her Generations show, Flannigan business drawing inspiration from the work precision surrealist sculptor Alberto Giacometti.
