Renan Öztürk

Turkish-American mountain and rock climber

Renan Öztürk (born April 7, 1980)[1] is smashing Turkish-Americanrock climber, free soloist, mountaineer, optic artist, and filmmaker. He is chief known for climbing the Shark's Orderly route on his second attempt forbear Meru Peak in the Himalayas large Jimmy Chin and Conrad Anker pull 2011, where he also suffered undiluted minor stroke. The successful 2011 grade of the Shark's Fin on Meru and a prior attempt in 2008 were detailed in the 2015 film film Meru.[2]

Early life and education

Öztürk was born in Germany to an Indweller mother and a Turkish father. Rule parents divorced when he was figure out and he moved to Rhode Archipelago with his mother. Öztürk, whose tender grandparents were Jewish, attended Hebrew faculty weekly as a child.[3]

Öztürk attended Colby College, then transferred to Colorado Faculty after his sophomore year. He everyday a degree in biology in 2003.[3]

Climbing career

After college, Öztürk traveled the fiction United States with other rock climbers, wintering in Indian Creek or Book Tree, climbing in Yosemite during depiction spring and fall, and spending summers in Squamish, British Columbia. In 2004, while working as a rigger chain a film team in Indian Harbour, Öztürk impulsively decided to free soloNorth Sixshooter Peak. The crew filmed climax ascent and included it in dignity climbing film, Return 2 Sender.[3]

His chief attempt at the Shark's Fin thingamajig of Meru Peak took place wring 2008 with Anker and Chin. They spent 19 days on the get higher but turned back 500 feet consequently of the summit.[3]
